HAPPY BIRTH-of-life-DAY

So, started a blog on your birthday have we? Yes, yes I have *self hi-5*. I guess there is a huge reason as to why I wanted to start this blog today. Usually people begin their blogging journey during a time of great success... or if they've just purchased a new Celine bag and believe they can now become a fashion blogger but in my circumstance this is further from that reality. You're all probably thinking "Ohhh, another fashion blogger" but I can assure you that this is not the purpose of my blog. Cutting to the chase in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0, -1, -2, -3 lol, just kidding.

Today I have never been happier.

I am currently unemployed (applied for 434805 jobs and counting), financially struggling, single (call me on 04.. lol) AND one step closer to becoming a pensioner. Yep, I have turned 24 today. I guess this is a milestone in my life. I always thought I would be in a stable work place fulfilling my career as a PR consultant within the fashion industry but this has not happened...yet.

It's funny because whenever it is your birthday you start to analyse your life. What have I done in the past year? What does the future hold? Is that a wrinkle on my chin? (which in my case was a pen mark, winning!) Why did I spend a whole day catching up on Sons of Anarchy episodes? You know, the norms. I guess I am at a point where I'm eager for a change, wondering when things will start happening for me.

Everything else in my life is perfect (which is why I am absolutely in my highest form of happiness). I have the most supportive and loving family anyone could ask for, my friends are absolutely amazing individuals who light up my life and I'm an individual who is content with herself, who has ambitions, aspirations and I must say quite wise for my age (quit picturing me with a white beard lol). I only know I want new things in life because my husband radar has suddenly began working again and I find myself analysing potential specimens to see which fit the "future husband" category. Yep, call me.. Husbinator. LOL! (Terminator, Husbinator.. Get it, get it lol) Nah, I'm only kidding. I thank God everyday that I wake in this beautiful world and know that it'll all happen for me in due time. Geez, I never knew how much you could ramble on a blog hahaha!

The whole point of this is to say, things will start happening for you once you let it. Yes, this is a financially rough time that I am experiencing but I am living. I love life. I love looking to the sky knowing that each day can bring something new, each day is an opportunity. The things I have now are what is more important, family, friends, health, God and being granted another day on this beautiful earth. The best thing about my birthday is that the inspirational Martin Luther King Jr. was born on this day. He symbolizes change, freedom, courage, wisdom, love and promotes the idea that it is never to late to do what is right, for the world, for you, for everyone. As long as you're alive and breathing you can do amazing things that can influence your world, change your life, bring light and love to others, it's all possible!

I know this year will be a huuuuuuuuuge year for me. I've already begun the first and hardest step in fulfilling one of my dreams and am definitely overly excited. How can you not be when you have an ICE CREAM CAKE IN THE FREEZER WAITING FOR YOU! Lol... breathe Maya breathe.

So, are you going to follow me on this journey for change? I hope so... because then all this blog writing will be considered a waste of words and I'll be basically talking to myself, which is awk awk. Lol.

Once again, happy birthday to the idea of life, where you make it a reality.

Much love,
Maya.
